In week 72 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, the HTC One remained ahead of its competition, securing the first place positions on the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts.  Featuring a powerful quad-core processor and a metal exterior, the HTC One continues to capture mindshare in the crowded high-end smartphone market.  It’s up against several high-end smartphones, including the upcoming Motorola DROID MAXX and Moto X.  Can it hold the first place spot during the busy back-to-school shopping season?

MT PLEASANT, SC – July 23, 2013 – For 72 weeks, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has been the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week.  Despite rumors of upcoming smartphones from Motorola and Samsung, the HTC One held its first place positions on both the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts, gathering 359 total votes and 52 points.  With Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rolling out internationally and an upcoming launch on Verizon Wireless, the HTC One continues to set an impressive precedent on PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings charts.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 held the second place spot on the People’s Choice chart with 140 votes and returned to the second place spot on the Expert’s Choice chart with 41 points.  Buoyed by the upcoming iOS 7 release, the Apple iPhone 5 remained in third place on the People’s Choice chart with a total of 112 votes.  The Galaxy Note II dropped to fourth place with 64 votes.  Holding the fifth place spot on the People’s Choice chart, the Google Nexus 4 with 51 votes.  On the Expert’s Choice Chart, the Apple iPhone 5 dropped to third place with 36 points, while the Samsung Galaxy Note II remained in fourth place with 18 points.  Holding its position in fifth place on the Expert’s Choice chart, the rugged Samsung Galaxy S4 Active with 16 points.
