Are you Motorola DROID Bionic owners getting hungry for some Jelly Beans after last week's news that your phone will be updated to Android 4.1 in Q2 2013? It looks like you may not have to live with that hunger much longer, because Droid-Life reports that Motorola has started sending messages to Bionic-toting members of its Motorola Feedback Network, inviting them to partake in an "an early preview of the new Jelly Bean software release." Besides the mention of Jelly Bean, there are no details in the invitation about just what improvements this update will contain.
It's not clear exactly when this soak test for the Android 4.1 update will get underway, but it'll likely be sometime in the next few days. So long as the testing goes smoothly, it shouldn't be long after that before the update is given the green light by Verizon and begins rolling out to DROID Q. Public. Of course, nothing's official until Motorola and Verizon make it so, so any Bionic owners that aren't taking part in this Jelly Bean soak test may want to hold off on the party hats and noisemakers for now. Once Verizon announces the actual start of the rollout, we'll give you a shout.
