Looks like AT&T is kicking off 2013 the same way that it wrapped up 2012: by expanding its 4G LTE network. AT&T announced this evening that it has expanded its LTE coverage in several parts of Michigan by upgrading some of its cell sites to support its LTE service. The areas with freshly-expanded LTE coverage are:
AT&T also says that it's improved the cell service in the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center by installing a new 4G LTE-capable Distributed Antenna System (DAS). The DAS is made up of several antennas placed throughout the Marriott to help manage busy areas like guest rooms and the hotel lobby.
AT&T has been keeping pretty busy with its 4G LTE rollouts as of late, expanding its LTE network five times throughout last month. While some may be disappointed by the fact that today's rollout didn't bring any new cities into AT&T's LTE family, it's still good to see the big blue operator continuing to grow its LTE network, and I'm sure that the residents of these various locales are pretty pleased as well. How many of you currently have access to AT&T's 4G LTE network?
