AT&T today announced that it'll soon be home to a second touchscreen-equipped 4G LTE mobile hotspot. Dubbed the Unite, this is a hotspot made by Sierra Wireless that features a 2.4-inch touchscreen on its face and support for up to 10 connected devices. The Unite also allows customers to enable a guest hotspot for one-time users and can block other devices from joining its Wi-Fi network. Two tidbits of information that AT&T has yet to share are exactly when the Unite will be launching and how much it'll cost when it does, but we do know that buyers will be able to add it to their Mobile Share plan for $20 per month.
The Unite comes to us just a couple of months after AT&T's first touchscreen hotspot, the Liberate, hit shelves. Both devices are capable of supporting up to 10 connected devices at once, but the Unite's touchscreen is just a hair smaller than the Liberate's, with the former coming in at 2.4 inches and the latter at 2.8 inches. Touchscreen-equipped hotspots are still fairly new, but having a touch display on a hotspot seems like it'd make adjusting the device's settings an easier experience, and AT&T appears to be fully behind this type of product.
