The international flavor of the HTC One S recently began receiving its Android 4.1.1 update, but T-Mobile customers with a One S shouldn't fret too much, because it looks like that version's own update is getting closer. A TmoNews reader has received an email from HTC with an invitation to test out the Jelly Bean update for T-Mobile's One S. Details on the testing process and the update itself are still unclear, but the user was randomly chosen to take part in the test for being a participant in the HTC community.
HTC announced earlier this year that it would be updating the One S to Jelly Bean, and last month it said that its 2012 models would get priority review with its carrier partners. However, the company hasn't said much about update timing for carrier-branded models, so the T-Mobile One S's update window is a mystery. The good news is that with this testing period kicking off, we know that the Android 4.1 update for the Magenta version of the One S is working its way toward a public release. Stay tuned and we'll let you know when us regular Schmoes will get a shot at the T-Mobile version of the One S Jelly Bean update.
