The HTC 6435LVW has been floating around the rumor mill for a while, popping up every now and then in a leaked benchmark or other report, and tonight the unannounced device is back in the news again. More purported details about the 6435LVW have been posted by HTC Source, who claim to have gotten them from a "reliable source." This tipster claims that the phone is extremely similar to that mysterious black and red HTC device that was photographed a couple of times earlier this month, and that once it arrives on Verizon, it'll receive the carrier's DROID branding.
In terms of specs, we're told to expect a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage. There's also said to be a notification LED near the rear camera to alert the user to things like missed calls and to show that the device is being charged. Two things that the 6435LVW reportedly does not feature? A microSD slot and removable battery.
While most reports have pegged this mystery HTC phone with a 5-inch 1080p display, there's been some confusion as to what kind of processor it might feature. Today's rumor and a previous one have claimed that the device will be quad-core, but when the device purportedly appeared in some benchmark results earlier this year, it was listed as having a dual-core MSM8960 chip. Whatever kind of processor the 6435LVW ends up packing, it sounds like fans of ginormous screens on Verizon may soon have a new device to lust after. There's been no word on exactly when a launch might be happening, but the handset was recently spotted in Verizon's internal device management system and the Bluetooth SIG, so it could be getting close. How many of you Verizon customers are interested in this HTC phone?
