We've already seen several interesting documents surface in the trial currently going on between Apple and Samsung, including one that compared the Galaxy S to the iPhone and suggested ways that Samsung could improve its handset. Today we've got more information to pore over, this time involving Apple and Samsung sales figures. On the Apple side of things, the Cupertino firm says that it's sold 85 million iPhones in the U.S. from 2007 through the second quarter of 2012, bringing in a total revenue of $50 billion. Meanwhile, the iPod touch moved 46 million units in that time while sales of the iPad reached 34 million.
When it comes to Samsung, the company has had many more devices available for purchase during the period in which its sales have been calculated, which is June 2010 through the second quarter of 2012. The Galaxy Prevail on Boost Mobile was the most popular individual Samsung model during that time, account for 2.255 million sales. Other notable handsets on the list include Sprint's Epic 4G with sales of 1.897 million units, the Epic 4G Touch with 1.675 million sales and the T-Mobile Galaxy S 4G with sales of 1.447 million. The total number of sales for the Samsung handsets involved in this suit is 21.251 million. Meanwhile, Samsung reports that it sold 1.4 million Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 10.1 units.
Considering that Samsung doesn't often release sales figures for its specific devices, it's interesting to finally get a look at how several of its products sold during here in the U.S. during the two-year period between Q2 2012 and Q2 2012. Probably the most surprising stat in this report is the popularity of the Galaxy Prevail, which was the only handset on Samsung's list to break the two million sold mark.
