We've known for a while now that Nokia will be one of the first manufacturers to offer a Windows Phone 8 device, but a new report has suggested that we could see the company's first handsets running the new mobile operating system next month. According to a source speaking to Bloomberg, Nokia intends to introduce Windows Phone 8-powered smartphones as soon as next month's Nokia World event, which takes place on September 5 and 6. No details of the upcoming phones were mentioned.
With Nokia World going down in early September and Windows Phone 8 devices slated to begin arriving this fall, it'd certainly make sense for Nokia to take the opportunity to introduce us to its new hardware at its own event. Doing so also gets the devices in the minds of consumers days before it's rumored that Apple will be debuting its new iPhone, so customers in the market for a handset will have Nokia's new model(s) to consider as well as Apple's device. As usual, you can bet that we'll bring you the details of Nokia's Windows Phone 8 products as we get 'em. What kinds of features would the phones need to feature for you to consider picking them up?
