The Samsung Galaxy S III continues its dominance in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, taking the #1 spot in both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Expert's Chart once again. For the foreseeable future, it seems the Samsung Galaxy S III will reign smartphone king. Could it be Apple's upcoming iPhone that steals the crown?
MT. PLEASANT, SC - Allowing both readers and experts to choose their favorite smartphones, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) sets the standard for ranking the latest and greatest smartphones in the current mobile market. This week, the Samsung Galaxy S III takes the #1 spot in the People's Choice Chart, only beating the HTC One X by a single vote. In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the Samsung Galaxy S III also takes the top spot, holding off the Apple iPhone 4S by a margin of eight points.
While it seems nothing major changed in the People's Choice Chart, the Samsung Galaxy S III (global) and U.S. version of the Samsung Galaxy S III actually traded places. The U.S. variant went to the #1 position while the global variant took third. Staying at the #2 spot is the HTC One X, which held the Samsung Galaxy S III (global) off by only nine votes. On the Mobile Tech Expert’s Chart, everything remained the same for week 19. The Apple iPhone 4S held strong in the #2 spot. And only two points behind was HTC One X.
“The re-emergence of the Apple iPhone 4S on PhoneDog’s People’s Choice Rankings chart is proof that Apple’s smartphone still commands mindshare,” said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
