After a very tight race all week long on the People's Choice side of the Official Smartphone Rankings chart, the Samsung Galaxy S III takes first place by 1 point over the HTC One X. With the number of U.S. carriers who offer the Galaxy S III going up last week, you can understand why it's popularity took it to number one for the first time. So here we are on a Monday featuring a user review by David Larsen and his take on the GSIII.
"The Samsung galaxy s3" By David Larsen on July 15, 2012
The Samsung galaxy S3 is the best phone on the market today. Display is second to none. The HD super amoled display really makes colors pop.
I'm coming from the droid bionic, and I work in a 4g fring zone. The bionic would drop down to 3G constantly, however with the GS3 it hasent dropped to 3G once.
Battery life is excellent. I'm at 11 hours and 38 min off the charger and it's at 39% with moderate use. The design/form factor was the only category that did not receive a 5/5. It just feels like it would break easily. Now it did survive a drop the other day without incident. That said I don't think there's any denying that the htc one x seems like it has a better build quality.
Apps and media support. Samsung really hit this one out of the park when they made every variant of the GS3 the exactly the same. Thus Making the ecosystem around the phone up there with the iPhone. This is the first android phone to come out that is truly ready for the main streem user. It looks so good it's hard to even take your eyes off it. I love this phone. And if you go out and get one you will too.
