MT. PLEASANT, SC - Allowing both readers and tech experts to vote and rank their favorite phones, PhoneDog Media’s Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) continues to set the standard for ranking the best phones in the market. This week, both the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X hold their #1 positions in the People's Choice Chart and the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, respectively. That said, the Samsung Galaxy S III has two different variants in the top four positions in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, totalling 67 points.

In the People's Choice Chart, the Samsung Galaxy S III held the HTC One X off by a respectable 182 votes. In an unexpected turn of events, the DROID RAZR MAXX jumped from the #7 position to #3, beating the HTC EVO 4G LTE by only 17 votes. The sudden jump could be accredited to the DROID RAZR MAXX recently having been updated to Android version 4.0. The Samsung Galaxy S III (40 points) trailed the HTC One X (47 points) by only 7 points in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, placing it in the #2 position. Just one point shy, the Apple iPhone 4S (39 points) slipped to the #3 position and the Samsung Galaxy S III (global) dropped to #4 with 27 points.
