Last week, some AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II owners were able to install an update to Android 4.0 using Samsung's Kies software, but then the upgrade quickly disappeared. If you're one of the many folks that weren't able to download the update before, you'll be glad to hear that your opportunity to hop aboard the Ice Cream Sandwich train has returned. AT&T today made the Galaxy S II's update to Android 4.0 officially official, explaining that the update will bring with it a number of new features such as Face Unlock, a new Recent Apps shortcut and a refreshed notifications bar.
For you update-hungry AT&T Galaxy S II users, its worth noting that this update must be installed using Samsung's Kies computer software. AT&T's announcement says that the update will be available "starting tomorrow," but some of our commenters report that they've already been able to upgrade, and another page on AT&T's website claims that the new software is "now available," so it might be worth your time to plug that GSII into Kies and check for the update now. You can find a Kies download link and installation instructions for this update right here. Don't forget to swing by our comments section below and let us know how Ice Cream Sandwich on the Galaxy S II is treating you!
