The Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X topped the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, respectively, for week 15 in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™. With no clear winner this week and several U.S. launches of the Samsung Galaxy S III approaching, will the Galaxy S III soon take the crown?
MT. PLEASANT, SC - For 15 weeks and counting, PhoneDog Media’s Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) continues to set the standard for pitting the market's hottest smartphones against one another. For the second week in a row, the Samsung Galaxy S III resides in the top spot in the People's Choice Chart, edging out the HTC One X by nearly 100 votes. In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the HTC One X takes the #1 position for the fifth consecutive week with 51 points.
The HTC One X stayed in its #2 position in the People’s Choice Chart, with nearly double the votes received by the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Just two weeks ago, the HTC EVO 4G LTE sat in the ninth position and rose from fifth place last week to take the #3 spot, beating the Nokia Lumia 900 by only 28 votes. Consequently, the Nokia Lumia 900 dropped to #4. With 40 points in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the iPhone 4S remained in second, just barely holding off the Samsung Galaxy S III in third with 37 points.
“In an Official Smartphone Rankings first, the Apple iPhone 4S has fallen from the People’s Choice Rankings chart” said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog. “In the eyes of the users, the current Android offerings from Samsung and HTC outweigh what Apple has to offer with their flagship device.”
