Have a Motorola DROID X2 or DROID 3 on Verizon? Then you'll be glad to hear that Motorola has begun sending emails to owners of both handsets, alerting them to soak tests for new updates that are about to get underway. As is usually the case with these early previews, there's no word yet on just what kinds of goodies these updates may contain.

While the last DROID X2 update was outed fairly recently, it's definitely been a while since DROID 3 folk were treated to some new software, so it's good to see Motorola finally showing the D3 some more love. Again, it's not yet clear exactly what changes or improvements are included in these updates, but hey, just about any kind of update is a good one. We'll be sure to pass along more information as we get it. If you've got either of these handsets laying around, you may want to fire up the System Update functionality to see if there's anything waiting for you.
