Good news for the Motorola DROID Bionic crowd today, as Motorola has begun sending emails to owners of the device on the Motorola Feedback Network, inviting them to take part in a preview of some new software. As is usually the case with these soak tests, the email makes no mention of what changes or enhancements this update may contain or when the testing may kick off.
So what might this update be? We won't know for sure until more details leak out or Verizon posts the update on its support site, but there's a chance that this test is for the 5.9.904 update that we heard about earlier this month. That particular update is of the maintenance variety, bringing with it a handful of stability and performance tweaks. While that may not be quite as exciting as a bump to Android 4.0, at least you Bionic owners know that an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade will eventually be coming your way. More on this mystery update as we get it.
