Apparently Motorola's got a fever, and the only prescription is more DROIDs. A user over at the RAZR Forums reports that while voicing his concerns about the DROID RAZR's battery life at a Verizon store, an employee told him that there's a new device on the way that's dubbed the DROID RAZRMAX. This employee went on to claim that the RAZRMAX features a slightly thicker body than the RAZR, but also packs a larger battery.

On it's own, that bit of information is interesting, but not necessarily something we'd obsess over since carrier reps can be slightly less than reliable when it comes to information about unofficial products. However, Pocketnow has dug up some evidence to support the rep's claim, as the site claims to have found photos containing EXIF data with references to a device named "Motorola DROID RAZRMAX." Also contained in the EXIF data is a mention that the device's software is named "cdma_spyder_max." If you'll recall, "Spyder" was the codename of the DROID RAZR, so it's interesting to see the name "spyder_max" associated with this mysterious RAZRMAX device.

Outside of those scant details, there's not much anyone knows about the DROID RAZRMAX. However, Pocketnow points out that Motorola recently introduced a new handset over in China that feature RAZR-type styling but a 4.5-inch 720p display, which is quite a bump from the DROID RAZR's 4.3-inch 960x540 screen. It's not clear if that feature will actually make it into this rumored RAZRMAX, but if Moto really wants the device to live up to its name, it's certainly a possibility.
