If you were hoping that mountains of Thanksgiving turkey and mashed potatoes would put Verizon in the mood to give up some official Galaxy Nexus launch details, you're out of luck. It's not all bad news, though, as a new Verizon Flash ad that features the Nexus has been making its way around the Web this morning and sending some folks into a tizzy. The ad shows the Galaxy Nexus in a very festive setting and also features an eye-catching $199.99 price. Besides the Nexus, the ad also shows both the Samsung Stratosphere and DROID Charge with price tags of $99.99 on contract.
A quick scan of Verizon's online store confirms that the carrier hasn't decided to begin selling the Galaxy Nexus without telling a soul, so don't bother checking. We've seen that Verizon is likely to sell the Nexus at the $299.99 price point that has accompanied most other 4G LTE handsets to date, so it's likely that this $199.99 pricing is meant to be part of some promotion. One possible explanation is that Big Red either had planned to offer the device for $200 as a Black Friday deal or will do so as part of some holiday promo next month. Whatever the case, we're still without any kind of official release date for Verizon's Nexus, and at this point I'm sure many of us would be willing to pay almost any price for the device if Big Red would just get around to launching it. We'll keep our eyes peeled as Nexus Watch 2011 continues.
