The majority of handsets released nowadays come to market as plain ol' black slabs, with some occasional touches of chrome here and there. Sometimes a manufacturer will break up the monotony by giving one of its existing handsets a new coat of paint, though, like when HTC slapped a white backside onto the EVO 4G. It looks like HTC is planning to pick up its paintbrush once again, as the folks at Pocketnow have gotten their hands on some official-looking images of a silver DROID Incredible 2. As is usually the case when we see a phone get a new paint job, the face of the DInc 2 will remain black, although the rest of the body will be covered in a pretty slick-looking silver color.

So when might you be able to get your hands on one of these silver bullets? Unfortunately, there's no word yet on a possible release date or price tag. Considering the fact that the Incredible 2's been around for a hair over three months now as well the official-ness of this image, though, I wouldn't be surprised if the silver model hit sooner rather than later.
