One of the biggest questions surrounding the suit between Apple and Samsung has been whether or not Apple would decide to file a preliminary injunction on Samsung and, if so, which devices the motion would include. Well today we finally got our answer, as it's been revealed that Apple has indeed filed for a preliminary injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. We recently saw Apple expand its complaint against Samsung to include several new products like the Sidekick 4G and Exhibit 4G, but Apple's motion for a preliminary injunction only covers four devices: the DROID Charge, Galaxy S 4G, Infuse 4G, and Galaxy Tab 10.1.
It remains to be seen whether or not Apple will actually get its way, but if it does it could be a pretty big blow to Samsung and its counterclaim against Apple. Along with its motion for a preliminary injunction, Apple seems to be trying to speed its case against Samsung along as its aiming to formally file for the injunction in court on August 5th. It's also asked for an expedited jury trial to take place in February 2012. So much for those settlement negotiations, huh?
