Hot on the heels of Apple filing a preliminary injunction in its suit against Samsung, another development in the case has emerged. According to a report from Bloomberg, Samsung has withdrawn a countersuit against Apple, a move which Samsung spokesperson Nam Ki Yung says is meant "to streamline the legal proceedings." However, Samsung has no plans to drop its other suits against Apple. "Samsung will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property," Nam told Bloomberg.
Although it may sound like Samsung is relenting in its battle against Apple, the company isn't giving up the fight just yet. This move allows Samsung to better focus on other legal battles with Apple taking place here and in other parts of the world. What exactly will happen next in the tiff between these two firms remains to be seen, but I'm sure we'll see another move made sometime soon. Stay tuned!
