The rumor mill's been working overtime thanks to a number of Apple rumors as of late, most of them concerning the next generation iPhone and exactly what it will/won't feature and when it will/won't launch. Today we've got a couple of new iPhone 5 reports to share with you, so buckle your seat belt and we'll get going. First up is a rumor out of Digitimes that's claiming that supplier's in the Apple manufacturing chain have been told to begin prepping for production of the new iPhone as well as a new version of the iPad. According to the site's "industry sources," both products will be unveiled in September and arriving on the market in October.
Our second helping of rumor stew today comes from the iPhone Download Blog, which is citing a tip from an anonymous source that claims that Apple may be planning to include an LED indicator on the next iPhone similar to the one found on BlackBerrys and some Android phones.
Obviously since both reports are rumors you'd probably be wise to take them with a few grains of salt, although I'd recommend a double dose for the latter of the two. Many in the industry expect that the new iPhone will indeed make its grand debut in September, although folks are a little more split when it comes to the possibility of an iPad 3 arriving this year as well. As for the LED indicator rumor, well, let's just say that it'd certainly be nice to see but I'm not completely sold on the idea just yet. That doesn't mean we can't have fun discussing it all, though! What do you all make of these rumors? Will Apple break its yearly cycle and release a refreshed iPad this year? Could the next iPhone really include an LED indicator light? Drop your opinions below!
