The Taiwanese cell phone makers, HTC, are at it again, releasing some of the hottest and most highly anticipated phones out there. While some will argue that HTC is slipping and Sense is slowly losing its luster to other UIs and vanilla Android, their phones never cease to find their way onto top smartphones lists around the web.
Whether you are an advocate of 3D technology or not, it's coming and there doesn't seem to be much we can do to avoid it. It's everywhere and it's quickly making its way to the cell phone market. One of the first 3D phones to make it to consumer hands is the HTC-made EVO 3D.
Being the successor to arguably the most popular Android phone to date, the EVO 3D has some rather large shoes to fill. Packed with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 4.3-inch stereoscopic qHD display (540 by 960 pixel resolution), Android 2.3 with Sense 3.0 and dual 5-megapixel cameras for 3D video and picture capture, HTC wasn't pulling their punches with the EVO 3D. Despite some issues with reception and call quality, the EVO 3D easy takes the number one spot in our top smartphones list for Sprint.
Alongside the EVO 3D is its long lost T-Mobile cousin. Sharing a lot of the same specifications as the EVO, the Sensation 4G easily made a top smartphones list as well. Although it is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and should theoretically outgun the competition, the Sensation tends to be the victim of some intermittent lag – Sense UI the likely culprit. Some may argue that this phone should have made the number one spot, but the Sensation sits comfortably at number two – behind the G2x – on our top smartphones list for T-Mobile.
