And the constantly-escalating legal battle between Samsung and Apple wages on. The latest chapter in the story emerged earlier today, with Samsung filing a complaint with the International Trade Commission asking for a ban on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. FOSS Patents believes that the ITC will agree to look into Samsung's complaint, although a decision on the matter likely won't come for another 16 to 18 months.
It's not terribly surprising that Samsung has asked for a ban as such a move is par for the course in patent battles like the one between these two companies. For instance, earlier this year Nokia filed an ITC complaint against Apple during the legal tiff between those firms. Apple has yet to file a complaint with the ITC or make any other moves in its battle with Samsung since it filed a suit against Sammy in its backyard of South Korea, but I'm sure we'll hear something from the folks in Cupertino sooner or later. Stay tuned.
