Heads up, HTC ThunderBolt owners: the Gingerbread Man cometh (maybe). According to some leaked images sent to Android and Me by a "Verizon insider," the ThunderBolt will be getting an update to Android 2.3.4 on June 30th. Alongside Gingerbread, the update is said to include Skype Video functionality, support for Google Talk video chat, Sense 2.1, the Amazon Appstore, and a fix for those reboot problems that some TBolt owners have encountered.
We've already heard that an update to solve the ThunderBolt's pesky reboot issues was coming later this month, and there have also been rumors that the TBolt would be getting Android 2.3 before the end of Q2. Considering those two things, it would make sense to see Verizon and HTC roll the two updates into one mega-update to save time and make TBolt owners happy. Still, you'd probably be wise to take a few grains of salt with this rumor, not only because it's unconfirmed and Gingerbread-related, but also because there are a couple of misspellings in the document. We'll keep an eye on the situation and let you know when we learn more.
