The HTC Flyer may be coming to Best Buy sometime this spring, but a new report has claimed that the Taiwanese firm plans to release even more tablets in a few months. Components suppliers speaking to Digitimes claim that HTC will be launching two new Flyer tablets in the middle of 2011, both of which will be powered by Android 3.0. There aren't any more details on the HTC Honeycomb slates in Digitimes' report, but we've seen leaks reveal that a 10-inch HTC tablet is on its way and that it could arrive as soon as June. As for the current model, the sources claim that HTC will be releasing only a small volume of Flyers either late this month or early April, with wider production expected to kick off in May.
While we'll withhold judgment on the HTC Flyer until we can spend some hands-on time with it, there's a lot of knocks against the device that could prevent it from doing well. A lot of people love HTC's hardware, but the fact that the Flyer is running Android 2.3 rather than Honeycomb like other slates could be a dealbreaker. Still, the Flyer's small size could make it attractive for folks interested in a highly-portable Android tablet. What say you, readers?
