Sony Ericsson's Xperia PLAY is set to arrive on Verizon's shelves sometime this spring, but don't think that that'll be the only time we see an SE-branded device launching on a CDMA carrier. Speaking with PCMag, Sony Ericsson product marketing manager Stephen Sneeden explained that his company is recommitting to CDMA after a stint of releasing only GSM products.

SE is also going all-Android all the time here in the U.S., which could include some lower-end, more affordable devices alongside high-end handsets. Stock Android fans should be happy to hear that Sony Ericsson has "learned a few lessons on what's important" when it comes to Android, which is making the latest version of the OS available to users as quickly as possible and without any unnecessary skins or bloatware. Finally, Sneeden revealed that Sony Ericsson will be bringing LTE-capable smartphones to market, but he wouldn't give up any further details.

Earlier this year, we heard one Sony Ericsson exec claim that his company was going to take what it had learned in 2010 to make 2011 better, and so far it certainly seems like that's the case. The Xperia PLAY looks like a device that'll appeal to a wide range of users, and its stock Gingerbread look and feel should make Android purists smile from ear-to-ear.
