While the HTC ThunderBolt will be the first 4G handset in Verizon's lineup (whenever it finally ends up launching), it'll only feature data use over LTE, not voice. Today Verizon got one step closer to offering devices with voice calls over its 4G network, though, by announcing that it'll utilize Voice over LTE, or VoLTE, on its phones. The bad news? Verizon says that VoLTE won't be available until some time next year. Thankfully, we don't have to wait that long to see VoLTE in action, as Big Red will be demoing the feature on an LG Revolution at MWC next week (which we'll be covering live).

Even though I'm sure that there are many users that have almost completely shunned voice calls in favor of texting and emailing, the idea of improved quality voice calls still sounds pretty exciting. The only problem is that you'll only get that HD audio if you're on a call with another VoLTE handset, which means it'll be quite a while before most users can really experience what VoLTE offers.
