We've all been wondering exactly when Verizon was planning on flipping its LTE switch in the 38 planned markets, especially since they promised to do so by the end of the year, which is almost here.  We won't have to wonder much longer, though, as Verizon has scheduled a press conference kicking off tomorrow, December 1st, at 12:00 PM EST, where they'll be discussing their 4G plans in more detail.  Tony Melone, senior vice president and chief technical officer of VZW, will give us the skinny on when and how his carrier plans to cover 110 million people with LTE goodness by the end of the year.

I'm glad to see Big Red finally getting around to sharing their LTE launch details with us; I was starting to get a little nervous since they've only got about a month to launch 4G in 38 markets across the country.  It's kind of sad that we won't be have any LTE-capable phones until February, but in the immortal words of Mick Jagger, you can't always get what you want.  We'll update you with all of the info on Verizon's LTE launch as soon as it's available, so be sure to check back tomorrow at noon!

UPDATE: We're less than 24 hours from finding out all of Verizon's LTE plans, but that doesn't mean we can't get some last-minute speculation in.  A tipster has told the folks at Droid-Life that Verizon will be flipping the 4G switch on either December 5th or 6th, with LTE modems going on sale beginning on the 5th.
