The LG Star leak from a couple of weeks ago definitely made us salivate, but it also left us wanting more, like an actual look at the device in use.  Thankfully, more photos of the Star in the wild have leaked out, giving us a peek at the skin on the OS and a tour of the hardware itself.  As you can see, the version of Android on this particular Star is just about as far away from "nearly untouched" as possible, reminding me a lot of Samsung's TouchWiz skin.  Underneath LG's modifications, you'll find Android 2.2, although it's entirely possible that Gingerbread will be loaded on when the Star finally makes it to market.  You'll also find an HDMI-out port and a Tegra 2 processor that "outclasses" the 1GHz chip found on Samsung's Galaxy S devices.  You can find more images of the Star, including a Quadrant benchmark, below.

While I'm not completely sold on the skin found on the Star (or any Android skin, for that matter) just yet, I have to admit that I'm really liking the notification bar and its inclusion of both music controls and system toggles.  Plus, if the other rumored specs for the Star pan out, like the 4-inch display and dual-core Tegra 2 processor, I think I could probably excuse LG's skin on the device.  Unfortunately, there's no word on when this Android superphone could arrive besides the vague "early next year."  After looking over all of these photos, that launch can't come soon enough.

UPDATE: When it rains, it pours.  The folks at GSM Israel have posted a video totaling seven minutes in length, giving us a good, hard look at the Star in the flesh.  After a tour of the hardware, we're treated to a browser comparison with the iPhone 4 and, while the load times look pretty similar, the Star's scrolling isn't quite as smooth as the iPhone's.  Still, it's great to see a video of the device in action, and I can't wait to see what the next leak holds.
