Usually when you asked a carrier about any unreleased device, you'll get back something along the lines of "We don't comment on rumors and speculation." Not so with AT&T today, though, as whoever is manning the carrier's Facebook page let slip some info on the Motorola Olympus. A user asked for more info on the Olympus, and AT&T responded by saying that the device "should be available in December or January." That's certainly not something we haven't heard before, but it is the first public acknowledgement of the Olympus by ATT, and that's certainly worth something. The response has since been removed (unsurprising), but you can see it in the image above.
This is pretty big news for several reasons. We now know that the device exists and that it's coming to AT&T within the next couple of months. We'll have to reserve judgment about the Olympus until it's actually launched, but the rumored 4-inch display and dual-core Tegra 2 processor should make for a pretty awesome little phone. As I'm sure you know, AT&T isn't known for having the most stellar Android phones around, but it looks like this Moto device will finally change that. Now that we've got a pretty solid release window, are any of you considering picking up an Olympus as a nice holiday/post-holiday gift to you, from you?
