Samsung isn't the only manufacturer to send one of its Android phones to just about every carrier imaginable, as LG is doing just that with their Optimus smartphone. Three of the four major carriers have an Optimus variant, U.S. Cellular is getting the Optimus U, and now MetroPCS has announced that they, too, will be getting an Optimus to call their own. The stylish Optimus M will be the first Android phone on MetroPCS and will have specs similar to the other Optimus phones: 3.2-inch HVGA display, 600MHz processor, 3.2 megapixel camera, and Android 2.2 beneath a slightly tweaked skin. Expect the Optimus M to hit MetroPCS on November 24th, aka this Wednesday, for $229 contract-free with a $50 per month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data. Check out the full press release below.
We haven't seen U.S. Cellular's Optimus U variant yet, but I definitely dig the look of the Optimus M a little more than the other Optimus models. The white on the bottom of the phone, together with the layout of the four hardware keys, makes for an attractive little phone. Plus, for only $229 off-contract and $50 per month for unlimited everything, the Optimus M is a pretty good deal for anyone in the market for a new smartphone. Which model of the Optimus do you all prefer?
