So the Palm Pre 2 is headed for Verizon, that much we know. What we don't know is exactly when it'll be launching, outside of the vague "in the coming months" window that HP/Palm gave us last month. Thankfully, a document similar to the one detailed the KIN's return has leaked showing that the Pre 2 will be hitting Verizon in Q4. The very same Mobile Hotspot feature found in the Pre Plus will be on board with the Pre 2, although it's not clear if it'll be free again, too.
Many people have been underwhelmed by the Pre 2 and the fact that it's not completely new hardware from Palm like we were hoping for, but at least it's something. It was important for HP/Palm to get some sort of new product out in time for the holidays and the launch of webOS 2.0, and the Pre 2 and its 1GHz processor fit the bill for the time being. Offering free Mobile Hotspot service to any Pre 2 owner would be a great move and could really help sales, although it would also help if Verizon launched a proper ad campaign for the Pre 2, as well. So now that we know when the Verizon Pre 2 is coming, any thoughts on when the potential AT&T model could hit?
