Dell's Venue Pro launched yesterday, alongside every other Windows Phone 7 device, but it looks like the portrait QWERTY slider is experiencing a bit of a problem connecting to WiFi networks. Several new Venue Pro owners are reporting that when trying to connect to a protected wireless network, the handset simply replies “your phone couldn’t reach the Wi-Fi network”. Connecting to an unsecure WiFi network, though, works just like it should. Dell has yet to comment on the situation, but considering how important WiFi connectivity is with a high-end smartphone, I'm sure we'll be hearing from them soon.
Earlier today we learned that the Samsung Focus has been having some problems with microSD cards, and now the Venue Pro is having problems, too. It's safe to say that the Windows Phone 7 launch hasn't gone off without a hitch, although just about every major product launch has a problem or two. Besides, it sounds like sales for several of the initial WP7 phones, like the HD7, have been strong and some outlets have even sold out of their stock, so while there may be a few issues here and there, the debut of Windows Phone 7 seems to be a success.
