The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launching on all four major carriers and U.S. Cellular.  Not wanting to be left out, Cricket will be launching their own Android tablet.  No, it's not the Galaxy Tab, but Greg Lund and Matt Streiber of Cricket have said that their tablet will run Android 2.2 (just like the Tab) and launch in February.  There's no pricing info available yet, but Cricket is a prepaid carrier and is known to be a budget-friendly option, so the tablet should be affordable.  Cricket will also be launching a new Android phone in February which is said to be a "touch screen device with Android 2.1."

Prepaid carriers aren't always know for their smartphone selection, but Cricket has definitely been bringing the heat lately with the Kyocera Zio and Huawei Ascend.  Now that they're adding another Android-based handset and getting in on the tablet craze, too, Cricket is becoming a great option for the budget-conscious smartphone shopper.  We'll have to wait and see what kind of specs the Cricket tablet is packing, but as long as they're halfway decent, I'd say that it's got a good shot at success.  Would any of you bypass the Galaxy Tab for a (likely) cheaper alternative on Cricket?
