Motorola's DROID Pro still doesn't have a solid release date (November 11th is rumored) or price, but if a recent Verizon posting is to be believed, the globe-trotting DROID is going to cost a pretty penny. According to a listing on a VZW test site, the DROID Pro is set to cost $299 with a two year contract, or $499.99 unsubsidized. The page has since been taken down, but now that the info is out there, we have to ask: would you be willing to pay $300 for the business-centric DROID Pro?
Considering that the DROID Pro is both a world phone and a business device, a price tag of $300 doesn't seem completely out of the question. Then again, that figure would make the handset the most expensive subsidized Android phone we've seen yet. Since it doesn't pack a special display or a particularly high screen resolution (unlike the $250 Epic 4G), a $300 cost could turn a lot of consumers off. My guess? This is probably the price before rebate. When the DROID Pro does finally launch, I have a feeling it'll be priced at $199.99 with a two year contract and $100 mail-in rebate. We have seen some crazy things happen in the mobile world, though, so we'll just have to wait and see what Verizon finally prices the device at. Do you think $300 is too much for the DROID Pro? Would you pay that much for the BlackBerry-esque device?
