BlackBerrys have had a bit of a rough going lately in several Middle Eastern and Eastern countries. Thankfully, one of those nations has finally patched things up with RIM. The United Arab Emirates and RIM have come up with a BlackBerry security solution that makes both parties happy just three days before the UAE's BlackBerry ban was set to kick in. Details of the new agreement haven't been disclosed, but RIM is still working with other security-concerned countries to reach a solution similar to the one reached with the UAE.
Good on RIM and the UAE for being able to reach an answer to the country's security concerns before a ban had to be enacted. After all, if the ban were to take place, it would've probably been a big pain for the country, the carriers, and RIM itself. Now we just have to wait and see how things pan out in India and Saudi Arabia. Hopefully a solution can be reached, because we all know how hard it is to tear a BBM addict away from their favorite messaging program.
