Samsung's Gem hasn't been leaked as much as its Fascinate brother, but today we've finally got some solid info on the device thanks to a Best Buy guide. The Gem, which will be more of a low-end handset, will run Android 2.1 beneath Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 skin and will have a 3.2 megapixel camera. There's no word on pricing or release date, but the fact that the Gem has showed up in a Best Buy guide, I have a feeling that we'll be seeing it sooner rather than later.
While it may not appeal much to those of us who will accept nothing less than a 1 GHz chip and 4-inch screen from our Android phones, the Gem will definitely be a cheap, easy to use device for the first-time smartphone buyer. If I had to guess, I would say that the Gem will end up at around $50 or $75 when it hits. They always say two (or more) heads are better than one, though, so when do you think we'll see the Gem and how much do you think it'll launch for?
