Back at the beginning of August we learned that a device by Samsung called the Craft would be the first LTE-capable phone to launch on Metro PCS, and now we've got some photos of the handset. Judging by the pictures, the Craft will be running Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz UI. When it launches, the Craft will take advantage of Metro PCS' LTE network for data and CDMA for voice. There's no word on when we can expect the Craft to land in retail stores, but Metro PCS' LTE network is set to debut later this year in Las Vegas, so I imagine we'll see it shortly thereafter.
It's definitely disappointing that Metro PCS will only be launching LTE in one city this year, but considering we don't have any LTE networks available right now, I suppose we'll have to take what we can get. When it comes to the Craft, I'm bummed that there isn't any sort of Android or Windows Phone 7 goodness on board, but the fact that it'll be one of the first LTE phones means that it gets a pass. Here's to hoping that we'll see better photos, and maybe even a release, in the near future.
