We already know that Verizon and Motorola plan to team up to release a tablet with the code name Stingray, but now it looks like Moto isn't the only manufacturer making a tablet for Big Red. According to a source speaking with Download Squad, Google and HTC are creating a tablet running Chrome OS that will run on Verizon's network (the image above is a mock-up). The device is set to launch on November 26th, 2010, also known as Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. The specs for the device looks like this:
The specs for Google tablet look great, although it's disappointing that we don't know the screen size or the potential price. Considering it's being built for Google by HTC, who also put together the Nexus One, I have a feeling that the device will be every bit as awesome as the N1 was. So, how many of you would stop into a Verizon store on Black Friday to pick up a Chrome OS tablet?
UPDATE: Don't get too excited over this device just yet, folks, as it appears that the specs seen above are completely made up. Lee Matthews, author of the post, has admitted that the specs he gave were just a "guess" made by him and that the only information given to him by his source was the release date and that the device would land on Verizon. You know how you're always told to take rumors with a grain of salt? I'd take a few extra with this one.
