We've seen just about every single aspect of the Motorola DROID 2 that can be seen. We know so much about the device that we may as well have manufactured it ourselves. What's left to learn? The price and release date. While we still can't help you with the former, there is some more information on the latter. The folks over at Don't Hate the Geek have received an alleged internal Verizon screenshot that show the tentative release date of August 12th for the DROID 2, which lines up with a rumor we've heard in the past. There also appears to be an extremely short online only presale of the D2 on August 11th.
The August 12th release date, which falls on a Thursday, seems a little strange for a flagship device like the DROID 2. I would expect it to launch at the beginning or end of a week to gain more fanfare and give customers more of an opportunity to pick up the device. Still, it seems to be the most popular rumor going around right now, so it's entirely possible that this could all go down. The BlackBerry Torch is launching the same day on AT&T, so perhaps Verizon is looking to steal some fire from AT&T by launching the sequel to the most popular Android phone to date.
