While there still isn't any solid news of a release date for the Motorola DROID 2, we do know that Verizon employees have now begun training with the device.  The folks over at Droid Life have managed to snag the entire Verizon employee training manual, and there are a few interesting tidbits to be found.  According to the manual, the DROID 2 will be launching with both Android 2.2 and Flash 10.1, although it will also feature the same OS skin found on the DROID X.  The DROID 2 will also feature Mobile Hotspot functionality and other Verizon pre-loaded apps, Swype support built-in, and "DVD quality" video recording.

Considering that just about every other aspect of the DROID 2 has been leaked, I'm surprised that we haven't heard the official release date by now.  With employee training underway, though, I'm sure that the launch is only a few weeks away.  Every release rumor we've heard in the past has been near the end of August, which sounds about right.  The specs of the device definitely sound great, and although it doesn't have a huge screen like some of the other recent high-end Android phones, the fact that it has a physical QWERTY keyboard should help catapult it to popularity.
