Windows Phone 7 is perhaps one of Microsoft's most anticipated releases in recent memory, and this morning the release window for the OS got considerably smaller. Microsoft COO Kevin Turner announced during a presentation today that WP7 is expected to hit Europe in October, while those of us in the U.S. can expect it in November. It may not be a solid, locked down day, but at least we know that WP7 should be coming to our shores some time in November.
In the past, the best release information we had on Windows Phone 7 was that we would see it some time in the holiday season, so this news is definitely welcome. It's no surprise that Microsoft wants WP7 in the hands of consumers before the holidays, and with this news, I'm sure we'll be seeing it before Black Friday, as well. Now that it's August, we're only three months away from getting Windows Phone 7 in our paws. Start saving those pennies, everyone!
