It's been a long time coming (at least in tech world time), but the new jailbreak for all iPhones, including the iPhone 4, is now available. The process is a little different than the methods we've seen recently, as this new method is accessed simply by going to a website on your device's browser. The new JailbreakMe hack reportedly works on any iOS device on any firmware with any bootrom. Some early users have reported issues ranging from non-working FaceTime, wonky MMS problems, or flat out bricking of the device, so you may want to think twice before you go through with the jailbreak. If you've got an iDevice and an itch to jailbreak it since the process is now completely legal, however, point your Safari brower to jailbreakme.com and try it out.
I haven't tried JailbreakMe on my device, but the editors over at Engadget have had mixed results with the method. Some editors have had success while others were forced to restore through iTunes after JailbreakMe bricked their device. Most issues with the jailbreak can be solved with a simple iTunes restore, but again, you may want to weigh your options before you go through with the jailbreak. If any of you have attempted to hack your device using JailbreakMe, let us know your experiences!
