Yesterday we heard news that the Samsung Galaxy S would be launching on T-Mobile as the Samsung Vibrant, as well as a few other details like a possible July 21st release date. Now that we have the information about the device, photos have finally been leaked out into the world. While the AT&T version of the Galaxy S, known as the Captivate, changed the design of the Galaxy S, the Vibrant will stick with the original look and feel. TmoNews believes that the Vibrant will be launching with The Sims 3 pre-installed, as well as the movie Avatar and an Amazon Kindle app. With specs like a 1 GHz processor, HD video camera, and a 10 mm thickness, T-Mobile could definitely have a hit on their hands with the Vibrant. And the icing on top of the Galaxy S cake? The device was rooted this morning, so it'll be good to go when you finally get your hands on one.
It's interesting that T-Mobile stuck with the original Galaxy S design while AT&T opted to make a few changes, but it does give consumers a choice and you know my stance on choice. It's always a good thing. Now that we've seen a variation on the Galaxy S for three of the four big carriers, we're just waiting on a Verizon-branded version of the device to show up. We've heard in the past that Verizon's unit will be late to the Galaxy S party, coming "some time later in the year." I suppose users on Big Red will have to make due with phones like the upcoming DROID X until then.
