While the Samsung Behold II update situation has been one of the most controversial in recent memory, the good news is that the upgrade is finally rolling out to Behold II owners. TmoNews has obtained an internal screenshot showing that the roll out began yesterday and will continue through June 25th. It may not be Android 2.0 or above, but the update does contain Google Navigation, Swype, Google Voice Search, and several other enhancements. We heard in the past that the update would be coming June 28th, so at least there's been a little good coming out of this whole upgrade mess.
There have been petitions put together threatening Samsung with legal action if more updates are not brought to the Behold II. However, I'm not sure how successful these user petitions will be since Samsung has already stated that they won't be working on any more Behold II updates after this one. At least users have gotten some new functionality and stability fixes with this one upgrade. Now it'll be up to the Android hacking community to continue bringing new features to the device. In the immortal words of Rob Schneider, you can do it!
