Earlier today, the @DroidLanding Twitter account mentioned that the DROID X will have a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, though that tweet was subsequently deleted. Many then assumed the account is a hoax since both devices have been rumored to have TI OMAP processors. However, Droid-Life has touched base with their reliable sources who have said that both devices will indeed sport Snapdragons. It has been said that Motorola has been working closely with chip designers to get as much horsepower out of the Snapdragons as possible, so we should see great performance when the handsets are finally released.
I love seeing more devices launch with 1 GHz processors, regardless of who makes the chips. After spending a over a week with a Nexus One, it's great having such a buttery smooth experience which is at least partially thanks to the Snapdragon under the hood. It would be a surprise if both of these new DROIDs do launch with Snapdragons considering Motorola has been sporting TI OMAP processors in its devices, but as long as they have some sort of 1 GHz chip, I'm sure most people won't mind who it was made by.
