We haven't heard much about the HTC Scorpion, but if this news is to be believed, you'll definitely want to keep an eye out for it. MobileCrunch has gotten word that the device, reportedly running Android 2.2 with a 1.5 GHz processor, will be headed for Verizon. Originally they heard that it would be going to Sprint and packing WiMAX, but it looks like that has changed. The news comes from a ROM hacker named conflipper, who is apparently a fairly reliable source. If true, the news would add to the growing evidence that Verizon could be the place to pick up new Android devices. With the reported specs, the Scorpion should run like butter with the speedy Froyo update and a blazing 1.5 GHz processor under the hood. We'll have to wait until we get some more information on the device, but the Scorpion could end up being the device that will dethrone the EVO as the high-end Android king. We'll bring you more information as we get it!
