Samsung threw a shindig in New York City last night and had its mythical beast du jour, the i8510, on hand. According to Symbian-Guru, the i8510 is a Symbian S60 smartphone with an 8 megapixel camera on the back of its sliding frame. Along with a photo flash, 30 fps VGA video recording, 120 fps high-speed video recording at QVGA resolution, and Divx support, this thing is a multimedia beast as well. There's also a crazy onboard video editing program that allows for voiceovers along with other feats of handheld post-production.
Along with all of this imaging goodness is a quad-band GSM radio with dual-band WCDMA (but no 850 band for North American use? What?), WiFi, GPS, and an accelerometer. The "Innov8" (as it's apparently caleld) will also pack 16GB of internal storage and a 2.8" QVGA display for good measure. No idea when this one will hit the streets or how many credit cards you'll have to max out to get one, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
