LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Alltel Wireless, America's largest network, today announced the launch of the "Girlfriends LA Getaway" promotion. From now through Oct. 28, 2006, customers will have a chance to win one of five weekend getaways to Los Angeles. Winners will be chosen by entering a "Txt2Win" contest, in which Alltel will send text messages to customers with "Girlfriends" trivia, including questions about beauty tips, fashion and female authors.
Each week one winner will be drawn from those who answer that week's three trivia questions. To begin receiving trivia questions, customers can send a text message with the key word LAGIRL to 87366 or visit alltel.com/girlfriends for details of a mail-in alternative.
The five winners will receive a trip to Los Angeles for themselves and three of their friends, as well as a $1,000 shopping spree, and a Motorola RAZR phone with one free year of Alltel Wireless service. During their trip each winner and their "Circle" will receive prizes, including entertainment events, a day at a spa and an Alltel "Girlfriends" gift bag.

The contest celebrates Alltel's exclusive "My Circle" feature which allows Alltel Wireless customers to get unlimited free calls to and from the 10 phone numbers that matter most to them at any time of day, on any network. Eligibility is limited to women 18 years of age or older who are legal residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina or Ohio.
