The tablet space has been heating up over the past couple of years: It all began with the iPad, the device that changed the way we used tablets, then new slabs like the Galaxy Note came along with unique, amazing features. One feature that's become popular in the tablet space recently is built-in LTE connectivity, which gives consumers the opportunity to get online on the go with a big screen and flexible data plan.

Verizon recently introduced its own addition to the LTE-enabled tablet space. Dubbed the Ellipsis 7, the device features a 7-inch display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and support for Verizon's 4G network. One feature that it's missing, though, is 3G connectivity, meaning that you'll have no service if you venture outside of Verizon's LTE network footprint.

Carrier-branded devices aren't always the most high-quality hardware. Why? Because the operators don't want to step on the toes of their OEM friends. That's why, when Verizon put the Ellipsis 7 on its drawing board, the big red carrier came up with and affordable tablet that also wouldn't steal away sales from OEMs like Samsung.
